چکیده

Fusarium oxysporum is a destructive disease of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) that causes large yield losses in fields and commercial greenhouses, implying the need for resistance research. The current study was conducted Rabi - 2021 at Postgraduate Research Block, Department Vegetable Science, College Horticulture, Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. In present study, 25 genotypes brinjal were studied wilt morphological level. Scoring infection severity based on symptoms revealed five groups viz., asymptomatic/no chlorosis one cultivar torvum) slight leaves two (Arka Keshav Surya), Moderate with wilting or stunting plant ten (EC-620509, EC-615055, EC-620378, EC-620389, EC-620394, EC-620422, EC-631369, AVTO-9803, EC-620428 EC-631379), severe four (EC-620503, LA-1589, Marutham PKM-1) death observed eight (EC-620441, EC-620452, LA -0490, Money maker, Pusa rohini, sheethal, including susceptible checks (Pusa Ruby Arka Vikas). Genotypes exhibiting will be grafted to variety evaluated under open field conditions yield, quality parameters conditions.

Phenotypic and Molecular Screening of Tomato Germplasm for Resistance to Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus

Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) is a major tomato virus in tropical and subtropical regions. In this study, 134 accessions of Solanum lycopersicum and six accessions of Solanum peruvianum were assessed for resistance to an Iranian isolate of TYLCV. Plants were inoculated using whiteflies (Bemisia tabaci) and the reaction of plants was evaluated based on either disease symptoms or viral DN...

Characterization of Flax Germplasm for Resistance to Fusarium Wilt

Fusarium wilt of flax (Linum usitatissimum L.) caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lini (Fol) is an economically important disease that can result in severe yield losses. Due to the pathogen’s ability to survive in soil for long periods, it is essential to identify fusarium wilt resistant flax varieties. The objectives of the study were to phenotype and compare a recombinant inbred line (RIL) p...

Screening and identification of cucumber germplasm and rootstock resistance against the root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita).

Root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp) are destructive agricultural pests that reduce the productivity of cultivated vegetables worldwide, especially when vegetables are cropped continuously in greenhouses. Cucumbers (Cucumis sativus L.), in particular, suffer extensive damage due to root-knot nematodes, and only a few wild species are known to be resistant. Grafting of cultivated plants to root...

Integrated management strategies for tomato Fusarium wilt.

Fusarium wilt is caused by the fungal pathogens, Fusarium oxysporum or Fusarium solani. It is a devastating disease that affects many important food and vegetable crops and a major source of loss to farmers worldwide. Initial strategies developed to combat this devastating plant disease include the use of cultural, physical and chemical control. None of these strategies have been able to give t...

Screening some Iranian Muskmelon Landraces for Resistance Against Fusarium Wilt Disease using Molecular Markers

Fusarium wilt is one of the most destructive diseases of muskmelon (Cucumis melo L.), which is an economically important disease worldwide causes yield losses in muskmelon growing areas. One of the most effective controlling measures to prevent Fusarium wilt is through host resistance by using resistance genes. We used developed molecular markers for Fom-2 gene, which confers ...
